Compliance Services for Indian Businesses

Carbon regulations are reshaping both global trade and Indian industries. Whether you export to Europe or operate in energy-intensive sectors in India, carbon compliance is no longer optional.

G13+ helps Indian companies measure emissions, meet compliance requirements, and turn carbon regulation into a strategic advantage.

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is regulatory measure adopted by the EU to fight climate change and reach climate neautrality by 2050. The policy helps to ensure that imported goods face the same carbon cost as products made within the EU. Starting 2026, qualified EU importers must report embedded emissions for covered products including steel, cement, aluminium, fertilizers, chemicals, electricity, and hydrogen. From late 2026, these emissions will be priced through CBAM certificates.

For Indian exporters, CBAM means:

  • Mandatory product-level emissions reporting
  • Increased data requests from EU buyers
  • A commercial advantage for low-carbon production

India’s Carbon Compliance Mechanism

India is implementing a national compliance carbon framework through the India Carbon Market (ICM) under the Carbon Credit Trading Scheme (CCTS), led by the Ministry of Power and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). India is moving from energy efficiency compliance to full carbon emissions compliance — in phased stages.

The framework will:

  • Set sector and facility-level emissions targets
  • Require covered facilities to measure and report GHG emissions
  • Enable carbon credit trading for over- and under-performers
